Protecting What’s Great About Newport Beach
Lauren Kleiman is an attorney and businesswoman who is passionate about giving her time to better the community. She is Chair of the Newport Beach Planning Commission, and (wasn’t sure if current or past) a Member of the Newport Beach Aviation Committee and Airport Working Group.
As a community leader, Lauren has developed a history of reaching into the community to connect with residents. During her time on the Aviation Committee and Airport Working Group Board, Lauren organized a series of meeting with airline stakeholders and residents. And as a Founding Member of the Newport Beach Foundation, Lauren started their Parent Education Series.
Lauren’s initial efforts to get involved took place almost literally in her own backyard. Becoming Vice President of the Cameo Community Association Board of Directors, Lauren quickly overhauled their neighborhood security, communications, and social engagement.
Lauren lives in CDM with her husband and their ten year old son, who enjoy spending their weekends in the Fall on the flag football field.

A Safe Community
Living in Newport Beach, we have an expectation that our community will be kept safe. Rising crime rates and international criminals aren’t supposed to ever become concerns. Another sentence or two on safety.
Reducing Homelessness
Despite throwing more money at the problem, homelessness continues to increase. It has become a burden for NBPD and resources which should be dedicated for public safety.
Stopping Overcrowding
Sacramento keeps pushing one size fits all policies that have the very real potential of fundamentally changing our town forever. We need our City Council to have the land use and legal expertise to fight these mandates. They want us to build 4,800 new homes and allow a massive amount more lot splitting. That’ll overcrowd classrooms, pack more cars onto the streets, and forever change Newport Beach’s unique neighborhood feel.
